After leaving school at 16, Colin Fuller spent one year at College studying building construction , served a five year apprenticeship with the then, biggest jobbing firm in East Anglia, C. & J. Haileys Ltd., moved to a large Central Heating firm in Norwich for twelve months before starting in business as ‘East Coast Heating & Plumbing Svcs’. In 1968 with a partner, who left  several years later.

Amongst other projects around the town building the Sizewell A  Nuclear power station was under way then and there seemed to be  full employment and prosperity in Lowestoft.

Lots of business at that time  was grant work with several local builders. Plumbing in new bathrooms built on to many terraced houses with just an electric water heated cylinder.

People started to want  Central Heating and the system of the day was an Inset solid fuel boiler, probably in a mock Tudor stone fireplace.  We were so busy carrying out these installations people would stop Colin in the street and say ‘ could you install a boiler and fireplace like you did Mr. or Mrs. so & so ?  The reply would be not for about 9 months which the customer would find quite acceptable.  Today we would not expect any customer to wait more than a couple of weeks  and we endeavour to give instant service for boiler breakdowns and emergencies   

Many of these solid fuel boilers were then changed to gas fired boilers behind the hearth with the discovery of North Sea Gas, following on years later with wall hung balanced flue boilers leading to today’s energy efficient condensing boilers, renewable energy equipment including Solar Powered water and electrical systems, Ground source heat recovery systems, air source recovery systems all now readily available.

Colin’s son Gary joined the firm in 1974  was trained to a high standard and now takes the lead with the up to date high efficiency products , boiler repairs and servicing.

Many of our Customers are repeat business for many years, including their families or word of mouth recommendations as we have never advertised only to support jobs we have carried out or our business partners.  We like to think the quality of our work speaks for itself.

We carry out a wide range of bathroom and shower installations with the very latest in power showers.    We supply and install all bathroom equipment and sanitary ware customers can pick from any other supplier , catalogue or discuss their Ideas.

We have excellent business partners we work in conjunction with for all associated building work , tiling, electrical, carpentry and decorating etc.

We recommend, supply and install many Vaillant Products  and our standard combination boiler is the Vaillant 831 installed with thermostatic radiator valves and a Honeywell wireless programmable room thermostat.  This thermostat can be wall mounted or placed anywhere in the house, by  the customer where they feel is the best position for them.

We can supply and maintain any range of boilers required, for a lower cost option we install Gloworm Boilers, made under the same company Vaillant, but the customers needs are our best requirement.

We also have a newly qualified engineer, John, who is a very conscientious and highly skilled operative trained in the mould of our company standards.

We carry out all plumbing, heating and gas repairs with the exclusion of Liquid Petroleum Gas  ( Calor Gas )  we install Gas Hobs and Cookers for leading Kitchen installers, Gas fires boilers etc. and as required are a member of Gas Safe Register the governing body for gas safety and installation ( formally operated by Corgi )

• Solar Hot Water and Pressurised Hot Water Systems installations in several locations
• Biomass Boilers and system design

Our Core business is in the domestic market replacing old fashioned, inefficient and faulty boilers, new bathroom suites and showers.

For Power showers we  recommend the installation of the Aqualisa Quartz

There are of course cheaper options available, standard mixers, electric powered Inset Mixers etc.  The customers needs are the best requirement and we do not charge for estimates or any advice we can give.

We promise to :-

Fill in correctly, and leave on site, your Benchmark Log Book, your passport, in the unlikely event of any manufacturers guarantee work required. This  also guarantees that your system has been correctly installed and commissioned.

Register your boiler installation with Gas Safe Register  for the planning approval required and possible house information pack.

Completely flush the system after installation and add the required chemicals to the system to keep it in good condition, as required by  the current British Standards.
Remove all materials from site, with the exception of  hazardous substances.

Carry out no extra works without permission and agreement.

‘Combination’ boilers heat your hot water as the water passes through your boiler.

‘Condensing Combination’ boilers heat your water as it passes through your boiler and they extract any waste heat from the flue forming condensation which is taken to drain.  These boilers can be up to 20 % more efficient than conventional boilers and are a minimum requirement for gas installations since April 2005.

We can supply and install any make and model of boiler, The measure of the quality or performance of any combination boiler is usually measured by the rate at which it can heat your domestic hot water.  The minimum standard being 9.6 ltrs./minute, up to and above 15 ltrs. / minute. ( all perfect for showers, you do have to wait a little longer to fill a bath at 9.6 ltrs./min but there are many installed.)
Vaillant boilers carry their own  two year guarantee ) providing it is serviced at normal cost in the first year.
A traditional boiler will heat your water in a storage tank  containing approx. 120 ltrs. from where you draw it for use, and reheat as required. This traditional boiler should be condensing except in special circumstances. We are fitting high quality Vaillant Boilers.

We fit Magnaclean filters on existing heating systems.

We may require checks on water pressure etc. before acceptance of contract

We do not include any other work, i.e. roof lagging. etc. which could be included on request.
We make an allowance in our price for the removal of  scrap from site.
